CBD FAQs

Rockhampton Regional Council and Advance Rockhampton are proud to have delivered Queensland’s biggest car festival Rare Spares Rockynats over the last four years.

The previous events recorded over 200,000 people and provided an economic impact of over  $20 million to our local economy.

We realise that major events such Rockynats impact usual operations and movement within parts of our community, the Rockynats event team will work hard to minimise and mitigate these as best as possible.

How does accreditation work?

Accreditation is required from 6am – 6pm Saturday 5 April to Sunday 6 April 2025.

An Event Accreditation Pass (wristband to be worn) will be issued to you for personal access during event time. A Vehicle Access Parking Pass (VAPP) will be issued for vehicle access. This pass must be visibly displayed at all times.

Passes are to be treated like cash. Any individual that has lost their accreditation will need to contact the Rockynats Community Engagement Team via email at rockynats@rrc.qld.gov.au for approval of the new accreditation. Recipients will need to be able to provide photo ID at time of collection.

Deliveries can be facilitated on event days at the entry gates if absolutely necessary. Please note prior arrangement is required with our Rockynats Community Engagement Team by emailing rockynats@rrc.qld.gov.au

Scheduling deliveries prior to or after the event is preferred as access will be limited and could result in delays.

My business uses Uber Eats, Dinnerlog, etc - how can they access my business

Meal delivery drivers for Uber Eats, Dinnerlog etc will be advised closer to the 2025 event on how to access the CBD so that they can collect food orders from your business.

When will the event road closures and bump in begin?

The CBD event bump-in is expected to commence from Sunday 30 March 2025, coinciding with partial and hard road closures and displaced parking management. The Rockynats Community Engagement Team will provide managed access for residents, businesses and their customers leading up to the event.

Construction for the Northside Burnouts Precinct will commence Monday 24 March 2025.

At various times, traffic conditions will be altered and delays could be experienced.
