Final call for volunteers to rev up Rare Spares Rockynats
Published on 25 March 2021
With only days to go until the inaugural Rare Spares Rockynats festival, opportunities still exist for volunteers to be a part of the action and a historical milestone event for Rockhampton.
Advance Rockhampton Manager Tourism, Events and Marketing, Annette Pearce said hosting Queensland’s largest ever car festival was a coup for the region and would demonstrate just how versatile and capable the city is to deliver major events.
“Volunteers are the backbone to any event and we are grateful to have some wonderful and experienced people on board already however would love a few more people to put up their hands to help us deliver a memorable experience for everyone.
Ms Pearce said they had a great, eclectic mix of volunteers of all ages and experiences and were delighted to have many young people volunteering.
Rockhampton local Samantha Hall put up her hand to volunteer saying it would be a good way to comeback from COVID and unite the community.
Samantha said she felt the more people who volunteered for Rockynats the more chance there was of delivering a successful event that would remain for the future.
She said she was looking forward to igniting the senses during Rockynats with the noise and smell of burnt rubber all part of something ‘crazy good’ going on.
For people wanting to volunteer from a bit further afield there is still some fantastic inner-city accommodation in Rockhampton with cost-effective ‘glamping’ and camping sites within walking distance of all the action.
The 2021 Rare Spares Rockynats will be held from 2-5 April 2021.
The Rockhampton edition is presented by Rockhampton Regional Council, Naming Rights Sponsor Rare Spares and supporting precinct and event sponsors.
