See yourself at Rockynats this Easter
Published on 24 February 2023
The sound of revving engines is set to fill the streets of Rockhampton once again in April 2023. From cars, bikes and the smell of burning rubber to market stalls and live music, Rare Spares Rockynats 03 is the ultimate Easter destination.
With three jam-packed days of high-octane action, it’s no wonder that Rockynats attracts over 15,000 visitors. Attendees will be spoilt for choice with highlights such as Australia’s largest car and bike street parade, plus burnouts, street drags and drifting, Show’n’Shine displays, the Hot Wheels Show, Pin-up Pageant and even the infamous Mulletfest competition.
Summernats co-owner Andy Lopez says Rare Spares Rockynats 03 is set to be the biggest one yet.
“After two incredibly successful events in 2021 and 2022, we’re expecting a huge show in 2023. Car and bike entries sold out weeks ago, and that shows just how quickly Rockynats has established itself as one of the top three automotive festivals in Australia alongside Summernats and Red CentreNATS. The Rocky community and Rockhampton Regional Council have really gotten behind the event, and there’s no place you’d rather be at Easter than Rocky.” said Mr Lopez.
With just six weeks to go until Rare Spares Rockynats kicks off, event tickets and accommodation are selling like wildfire. Rockhampton Regional Council Mayor Tony Williams is excited about the influx of visitors coming to the region.
“Rockynats is a highlight of the event calendar in Rockhampton. Not only does it give back over five million dollars to our regional economy, but it’s also the kind of family-friendly, community-building event we want to be known for,” said Mayor Williams.
Bigger than ever, Rare Spares Rockynats 03 includes three different precincts, a show pavilion, an entertainment stage, markets, and various other off-track events happening across Rockhampton. Visitors wondering how to get between event precincts on both sides of the Fitzroy River will want to get their hands on a Platinum or Gold ticket, which gives unlimited access to the exclusive Rockynats water taxis.
Advance Rockhampton Executive Manager Greg Bowden says that the timing of Rockynats is perfect for out-of-town visitors to make the trip.
“Not only is the weather fantastic over Easter, but the school holidays mean our visitors can make the most of their time at Rockynats and even stay a little longer. Whether it's our fantastic restaurants, the world-class Rockhampton Zoo, a visit to Mount Archer, go fishing on the Fitzroy River, find a gemstone at Mount Hay, Great Keppel Island, the Capricorn Caves or further west to the beautiful Blackdown Tableland, Central Queensland is perfect for a family getaway,” said Mr Bowden.
Don’t miss out on an adrenaline-pumping Easter in 2023. Platinum tickets for Rockynats are already completely sold out, with Gold and General Admission tickets still available but selling fast. Spectators can choose from a range of ticket options, including one, two or three-day passes, family tickets, concession, or youth passes. The good news for parents is that all children under 13 can attend Rockynats completely free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.
A General Admission Adult one-day pass for Saturday or Sunday is only $35 if purchased before the event weekend, available from www.rockynats.com.au/GetTickets.
